Joel & Soraya Canamar
Joel and Soraya Cañamar serve as the Family Pastors at Family of Faith Community Church. Married since 2001, they have served together in ministry throughout their marriage, believing their lives are called to be laid down for people and for the Lord.
After moving to Newark in 2013, they began attending FFCC and were officially ordained as pastors in February 2021. Prior to FFCC, Joel and Soraya served at Teen Challenge, a Christian rehabilitation ministry for teens and young adults in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Soraya served there for 18 years and Joel for 13, developing a deep passion for seeing people experience inner healing through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Their heart is to disciple young people and serve those in need both spiritually and physically. While they love their church family, their ministry extends beyond the four walls of the church through weekly community outreach and personal relationships.
Joel and Soraya have two young adult daughters, Sophia and Olivia, and enjoy doing ministry together as a family. They love spending time with young adults and couples, going on walks, sharing meals, and fellowshipping with others who share their passion for the Lord.
